PIONEER CAPTAIN REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for Team Captains for the St. Paul Pioneers, an athlete must meet certain requirements:

  • He has paid his player fee in full prior to the last practice before the first game.

  • He must have not have any unexcused absences from practices up to to the week before the first game.

  • He must not have been late to any practice without excuse.

    • This means he is dressed and ready for warm-ups at the first whistle of practice.

  • He has the endorsement of his position coach.


SELECTION PROCESS

One Offensive and one Defensive captain will be selected by their peers via Google Form ballot. A third captain will be named by the coaching staff. Finally, a fourth captain will be named weekly before the game. The list of candidates will be composed of those who meet the aforementioned requirements. All captains, except the weekly one, will be given a sticker for their helmet that matches the number of years they have been named captain.


CAPTAIN EXPECTATIONS

The following are the expectations of captains for the St. Paul Pioneers:

  • Attends practice is on time.

    • This means he is dressed and ready to lead the team in warm-ups at the sound of the first whistle.

  • Participation in ALL team fundraising activities.

    • Failure to do so, will result in Captain title being revoked.

  • Holds himself and his teammates accountable for their actions and behaviours.

  • Attends ALL team activities like fundraising parties, beer bashes, reading events, and more.

  • He adheres to the Code of Conduct at all times, both on and off the field.

  • He represents the Pioneers in all he does with pride and dignity.


STICKER PLACEMENT

The Captain C sticker will be placed on the back of the helmet, centered above the bottom neck bumper. The Captain will be given a sticker that matches the number of Previous years he has served as a captain.
